A. Merchant (Store Owner) Information

  • Mobile number (used for WhatsApp OTP login)
  • Email address (if provided)
  • Business address, pickup address
  • GST details (if provided for invoicing)
  • Support interactions (WhatsApp bot and tickets)

B. Store Data You Upload

  • Products, variants, prices, inventory
  • Customer information collected through your store (name, phone, address, email)
  • Orders, invoices, returns, and related records
  • Store pages and content (About, policies, banners)

C. Payment and Wallet Information

  • Payment-related metadata for plan purchase and wallet top-ups (processed via payment gateway)
  • Transaction references, timestamps, and status (we do not store full card/bank details)

D. Shipping Data

  • Shipment details required to create shipments via Shipdaak or Shiprocket (e.g., consignee address, phone, parcel weight)
  • Tracking events and delivery status updates

E. Technical and Usage Data

  • Device and browser information, IP address, log data, performance data
  • Cookies and similar tracking data (for security, analytics, and service improvement)

  • Provide and operate ShopHost Services
  • Create and manage merchant stores and admin access
  • Authenticate users using WhatsApp OTP login
  • Facilitate payments for plan upgrade and wallet top-ups
  • Enable shipping and tracking via Shipdaak or Shiprocket
  • Provide customer support via WhatsApp bot and support tickets
  • Improve platform performance, security, and reliability

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

  • Service providers: Payment Gateway, Shipdaak or Shiprocket(shipping), analytics tools, hosting/infrastructure vendors

5. Merchant Responsibilities

Merchants are responsible for:

  • Using customer data responsibly and in compliance with applicable laws

6. Data Retention

We retain data as long as needed to provide Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We also maintain weekly backups for platform reliability. Currently, ShopHost does not have a fixed “automatic deletion after termination” policy; you may request guidance via support ticket.

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including authentication via WhatsApp OTP and access controls (RBAC for staff users). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account access and staff permissions.

8. Cookies

We may use cookies or similar technologies for login sessions, security, analytics, and improving user experience. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

9. Your Rights

Subject to applicable laws, you may request access, correction, or export of your store data. CSV exports are available from the admin panel for supported datasets. For privacy requests, contact us via support ticket.

10. Third-Party Links

Your store or admin panel may contain links to third-party services (e.g., YouTube tutorials, payment gateways). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted with a revised Effective Date.
